You know something’s not quite right.
It’s hard to pinpoint the problem. At first glance, it’s everybody else, but you are the one who is often in the middle of a conflict, caught up in misunderstandings, feeling isolated, and dissatisfied overall.
As hard as it is to admit, yes, YOU are the common denominator.
I often hear, “I’ve tried it all, but nothing works!”
Yet, throughout our work together, my clients discover that they can still do something to feel better, even when nothing around them changes.
Let’s untangle the web of confusion and frustration.
We can work together to make the necessary changes through individual therapy. We will begin with an initial assessment to help me understand the problem, how it started, what maintains it, and how to overcome it.
You and I will meet one-on-one for two to three sessions. During these sessions, I’ll ask you several questions, perhaps making you feel like you’re in an interview. You’ll complete some psychological questionnaires to ensure I don’t miss anything significant.
Then, I’ll review all my information, give you feedback and results (i.e., my professional opinion), and make recommendations. At that point, you will decide if you want to keep going and do the work needed for a better life. That’s it.
Individual therapy is all about YOU.
Throughout our work together, you’ll have opportunities to express yourself and release what you have kept bottled up for so long – maybe even things you didn’t know were there!
Some people worry they won’t be able to handle their feelings – do not worry. We will first ensure you are ready for this level of expression and release. I’ll teach you solid strategies to identify, express, and manage your feelings when needed.
If you could benefit from other skills, such as learning to communicate better with others or changing unhelpful behaviors, we’ll dive into that, too.
The best thing about my therapeutic approach is that my skills and teachings don’t come from my opinion or personal experiences. Instead, they come from research that confirms what works best. I’m simply the messenger and am happy to share my knowledge and expertise.
